What are the top four NHL teams as of May, 2016

Pitching for the best team in NHL right now will depend on both defensive and offensive forces. At this point, all the teams have shown us their forces on both sides of the ice. Based on that, the four teams with higher chances of winning the cup would be the following.

The Capitals are at the top of the Metropolitan Eastern Conference.  One important fact to remember that might not play to their favor is that they have not been in a Stanley Cup final since 1998.  With their star, Alex Ovechkin, they are in for a great time this season. Bets can be placed on this team since they are the ones with the best defense.

San Jose

The Sharks are standing third in the Pacific West Conference. However, they are a team to watch. They have a rather powerful offensive with an average of 2.52 goals per game. A good offense wins games and the San Jose Sharks might rise to the occasion.  Their top player, Joe Pavelski, lead them to turn the tables in a game where they were losing by 3-2 but then changed it to a victory of 6-3. This kind of situation is not unusual for this team.

The Pittsburg Penguins certainly are a team to keep eyes on and land bets on. They march second (right behind the Washington Capitals) in the Metropolitan Eastern Conference. It is true they are trailing 3-2 in the series with Game 6 against the Bolts. Nevertheless, their terrific goaltender, Matt Murray, provides the team with the confidence they need.

The Panthers are ranking first place with 47 games won in the Atlantic Eastern Conference. Michael Matheson is their shield at defense.  You know what they say:  A good defense wins games, and this is no exception in this game.
